Name: Matthew Delaney

Major: Engineering & Management ’09; MBA ‘10
Would you allow prospective student athletes to contact and add you as a friend on Facebook?
Yes they can contact me via any means.
What was your reason for joining the USCSA?
It was an opportunity to continue my passion for skiing and racing in a competitive environment while also being able to pursue a high quality education. I also liked the team atmosphere promoted by USCSA, and the opportunity to meet new people from all over the United States.
Why did you decide to apply as a student athlete representative of the USCSA?
Having enjoyed my experience competing in the USCSA at the regional and national level I wanted to be able to give back to the organization and serve as a voice for the athletes to hopefully affect change and make the USCSA accessible to more schools and athletes, especially on the Nordic side. I knew there were lots of Nordic skiers at small schools with no organized team, and I wanted to help them get the same skiing opportunities that I was able to enjoy at Clarkson University.
I have continued to stay active in the USCSA community after my graduation and have enjoyed playing a role in the organization of the eastern Nordic conference.
What is your favorite activity to participate in while not at a USCSA winter event?
Road biking and running
